Shorea is a tropical hardwood found and developed in South East Asia. It prospers most commonly in Indonesia but can also be seen in Malaysia, the Philippines and certain parts of Northern India. The wood is a tremendously popular export and widely used as a slightly cheaper alternative to teak, although there is little between the two when broken down to their core essence.
